Continue to Love Each Other

 

히브리서 13장 1~17절

Hebrews 13:1-17

 

히브리서 저자는 믿음의 선조들을 본받아 믿음의 경주를 할 것을 권면한 후 서로 사랑하기를 계속하며 나그네를 반가이 대접하며 감옥에 갇혀 있는 자와 핍박받는 사람들을 생각하라고 합니다. 그리고 저자는 혼인을 귀히 여기고 침소를 더럽히지 말고 돈을 사랑하지 말고 있는 것에 만족하며 선을 행함과 가진 것을 나눠주기를 소홀히 하지 말라고 권면합니다.

The author of the book of Hebrews exhorts us to follow the example of our forefathers and run the race of faith, and then continue to love each other, welcome strangers, and think of those in prison and those who are persecuted. And the author exhorts us to cherish marriage, not to defile our bed, not to love money, to be content with what we have, and not to neglect doing good and sharing what we have.

그리고 저자가 주님께서 우리를 떠나지 않으시고 버리지 않으시며 우리를 도우시는 분임을 기억하며 두려워하지 말라고 합니다. 그리고 저자는 우리의 지도자를 기억하며 그들이 어떻게 살고 죽었는지를 살펴보고 그들을 본받으라고 권면합니다.

And the author tells us not to be afraid, remembering that the Lord does not forsake us, He does not forsake us, He is our helper. And the author remembers our leaders and exhorts us to see how they lived and died and to imitate them.

그리고 저자는 예수님은 어제나 오늘이나 영원토록 동일하신 분이니 여러 가지 이상한 교훈에 끌려 다니지 말라고 권면합니다. 음식규정을 지키는 것으로 마음이 튼튼해 지는 것이 아니라 은혜로 튼튼해 지는 것이 좋다고 합니다.

And since Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever, the author advises not to be led by various strange lessons. It is said that it is better to become strong through grace, not by keeping the food rules strong.

유대교의 제사의식에서 대제사장은 속죄제물로 드리려고 짐승의 피를 지성소에 가지고 들어가고, 그 몸은 진영 밖에서 태워버리듯이 예수께서도 자기의 피로 백성을 거룩하게 하시려고 성문 밖에서 고난을 받으셨으므로 우리도 진영 밖으로 나가 그에게 나아가서, 그가 겪으신 치욕을 짊어지자고 저자는 권면합니다.

In the Jewish rite, the high priest brings the blood of the beast into the holy place for atonement, and the body burns outside the camp, and Jesus also suffered outside the gate to consecrate the people with his blood, so the author urge us to go out and bear the disgrace He suffered.

그리고 지도자들의 말을 곧이듣고, 복종하라고 합니다. 그들은 여러분의 영혼을 지키는 사람들이요, 이 일을 장차 하나님께 보고드릴 사람들인 것을 알고 그들이 기쁜 마음을 이 일을 하도록 권면합니다.

And listen to the leaders and obey them. They know that they are the guardians of your soul and those who will report this to God in the future, and encourage them to do this with joy.

 

예수님은 결코 나를 떠나지 않고 버리지 않으시고 나를 도우시는 분입니다. 그리고 어제나 오늘이나 영원히 한결같으신 예수님, 그리고 자신의 피로 우리를 거룩하게 하시려고 성문 밖, 십자가에서 고난을 당하신 것을 기억하며 돈을 사랑하지 말고 있는 것에 만족하며 선을 행함과 나눠주기에 힘써야 합니다.(5~16절)

Jesus never leaves or forsakes me, and He helps me. And remember that Jesus, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and suffered on the cross outside the city gate to sanctify us with his own blood, should not love money, but be content with what we have and strive to do good and share. (Verses 5-16)

 

우리는 서로 사랑하기를 계속해야 합니다. 나그네를 친절히 대접하며 감옥에 갇혀 있는 사람들과 학대(핍박)받는 사람들을 생각해야 합니다.

We must continue to love each other. We should be kind to strangers and think of those in prison and those who are abused (persecuted).

인자가 자기 영광으로 모든 천사와 함께 올 때에 자기 영광의 보좌에 앉으리니

모든 민족을 그 앞에 모으고 각각 구분하기를 목자가 양과 염소를 구분하는 것 같이 하여

양은 그 오른편에 염소는 왼편에 두리라

그 때에 임금이 그 오른편에 있는 자들에게 이르시되 내 아버지께 복 받을 자들이여 나아와 창세로부터 너희를 위하여 예비된 나라를 상속받으라

내가 주릴 때에 너희가 먹을 것을 주었고 목마를 때에 마시게 하였고 나그네 되었을 때에 영접하였고

 

 

헐벗었을 때에 옷을 입혔고 병들었을 때에 돌보았고 옥에 갇혔을 때에 와서 보았느니라

When the Son of Man comes in his glory with all the angels, he will sit on the throne of his glory.

Gather all the nations before him and set them apart, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

The sheep will be on his right, and the goats will be on his left.

Then the king said to those on his right hand, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.

 

 

Naked and clothed me, I was sick and I looked after you, I was in prison and you came to see me.

 

이에 의인들이 대답하여 이르되 주여 우리가 어느 때에 주께서 주리신 것을 보고 음식을 대접하였으며 목마르신 것을 보고 마시게 하였나이까

어느 때에 나그네 되신 것을 보고 영접하였으며 헐벗으신 것을 보고 옷 입혔나이까

어느 때에 병드신 것이나 옥에 갇히신 것을 보고 가서 뵈었나이까 하리니

임금이 대답하여 이르시되 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 너희가 여기 내 형제 중에 지극히 작은 자 하나에게 한 것이 곧 내게 한 것이니라 하시고

Then the righteous answered and said, Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?

When did you see him a stranger and welcome him, or naked and clothe him?

When did I see you sick or in prison, and go to see you?

The king answered and said, "Truly I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me."

 

 

또 왼편에 있는 자들에게 이르시되 저주를 받은 자들아 나를 떠나 마귀와 그 사자들을 위하여 예비된 영원한 불에 들어가라

내가 주릴 때에 너희가 먹을 것을 주지 아니하였고 목마를 때에 마시게 하지 아니하였고

나그네 되었을 때에 영접하지 아니하였고 헐벗었을 때에 옷 입히지 아니하였고 병들었을 때와 옥에 갇혔을 때에 돌보지 아니하였느니라 하시니

그들도 대답하여 이르되 주여 우리가 어느 때에 주께서 주리신 것이나 목마르신 것이나 나그네 되신 것이나 헐벗으신 것이나 병드신 것이나 옥에 갇히신 것을 보고 공양하지 아니하더이까

And he said to them on his left, 'Depart from me, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink.

When I was a stranger, I did not welcome you, naked and undressed, sick and in prison and did not take care of me.”

They also answered and said, "Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and did not make offerings to you?

이에 임금이 대답하여 이르시되 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 이 지극히 작은 자 하나에게 하지 아니한 것이 곧 내게 하지 아니한 것이니라 하시리니(마25:31~45)

Then the king answered and said to them, "Truly, I say to you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me." (Matthew 25:31-45)

 

주변에 나그네와 병든 자와 옥에 갇힌 자를 돌아보며 주님을 대하듯이 사랑으로 찾아가서 섬겨야 할 것입니다.

We should look after strangers, the sick, and those in prison, and visit and serve the Lord with love as you treat the Lord.

 

또한 혼인을 귀하게 여기고 침소를 더럽히지 말아야 합니다. 성적으로 유혹이 많은 이 때에 깨어서 기도하며 여러 가지 유혹을 물리쳐야 합니다.

Also, marriage should be honored and the bed should not be defiled. At this time of many sexual temptations, we must be awake and pray and resist various temptations.

 

그리고 여러분의 지도자들을 기억해야하니다. 그들이 어떻게 살고 죽었는지를 살펴보고, 그 믿음을 본받아야 합니다. 여러분의 지도자들의 말을 곧이듣고, 그들에게 복종해야 합니다. 그들은 여러분의 영혼을 지키는 사람들입니다. 그들이 기쁜마음으로 이 일을 하게 하십시오.(7, 17) 그리고 우리들도 이와 같은 좋은 지도자가 될 것입니다.

And remember your leaders. We must look at how they lived and died and imitate that belief. You must listen to your leaders and obey them. They are the guards of your soul. Let them do this with joy (7, 17) and we will be good leaders like them.

 

우리들은 우리를 위해 고난을 당하신 예수님과 믿음의 선조들 그리고 지도자들을 본받아야 합니다. 서로 사랑하며 나그네를 대접하고 감옥에 갇힌자와 핍박받는 자를 생각하며 돌아보며 섬겨야 합니다. 그리고 혼인을 귀히 여기고 돈을 사랑하지 말고 있는 것에 만족하며 선을 행하고 나눠주어야 합니다. 그리고 예수님의 십자가 고난을 생각하며 우리도 세상으로 나아가서 그가 겪으신 치욕을 짊어져야 합니다. 그러면 우리에게 놓은 믿음의 경주를 잘 감당할 수 있을 것입니다.

우리가 이 믿음의 경주를 잘 감당하도록 함께 기도드립시다.

We must imitate Jesus, who suffered for us, and our forefathers and leaders of faith. We must love each other, treat strangers, and care for and serve those who are imprisoned and persecuted. And we must cherish marriage, do not love money, be content with what we have, and do good and share. And thinking of Jesus' suffering on the cross, we too must go out into the world and bear the disgrace he suffered. Then we will be able to handle the race of faith we have set for us.

Let's pray together so that we can handle this race of faith well.

 

하나님, 우리를 위해 독생자를 보내주시고 예수님께서 우리를 위해 십자가에서 고난받으신 것을 기억하며 우리 또한 우리에게 주어진 십자가를 지고 주님을 따르게 하소서! 서로 사랑하기를 계속하며 나그네를 대접하며 감옥에 갇힌자와 핍박받는 이들을 생각하며 방문하며 섬기게 하소서! 혼인을 귀히 여기고 돈을 사랑하지 말고 있는 것을 만족하며 선을 행하고 가진 것을 나눠주기에 힘쓰게 하소서! 그리고 현재의 상황에 안주하지 말고 날마다 믿음의 결정을 하며 주님을 따라가게 하소서! 우리의 지도자들을 위해 기도하며 순종함으로 그들이 기쁨으로 잘 감당하게 하시고 바울과 디모데처럼 협력하여 주님의 일을 잘 감당하게 하소서! 온 열방에 나가있는 선교사들과 후원자들과 현지 교회 지도자들이 협력하여 주님 나라와 영광을 위해 끝까지 주님 주신 사명을 잘 감당하게 하소서! 예수님의 이름으로 기도드립니다. 아멘!

God, send your only begotten Son for us and remember that Jesus suffered on the cross for us so that we too may take up our cross and follow you! Continue to love one another, be hospitable to strangers, visit and serve those who are imprisoned and persecuted! May we cherish marriage, do not love money, be content with what we have, do good, and strive to share what we have! And let us not be complacent with our current circumstances, but make decisions of faith every day and follow the Lord! Pray for and obey our leaders so that they may do well with joy and work together like Paul and Timothy to do the Lord's work well! Pray that missionaries, supporters, and local church leaders from all over the world work together to fulfill the mission the Lord has given us to the end for the sake of the Lord's kingdom and glory! I pray in the name of Jesus. amen!
