To return to the LORD with all my heart
To return to the LORD with all my heart
1 Samuel 7:3-17
Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, "If you will return to the Lord with all your heart, remove the foreign gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and turn your hearts to the Lord and serve Him yourself, and He will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines."
So the people of Israel destroyed the Baals and Ashtaroth and served only the LORD.
And Samuel said, "Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray to the Lord for you." When all Israel was assembled at Mizpah, the Philistines heard this, and the Philistines came up against Israel with their forces, but God protected Israel through thunder and, on the contrary, God help Israel to defeat the Philistines. And He gives peace while Samuel judges Israel.
God forgives, helps, and restores those who repent of their sins with all their heart, remove idols, and turn to God. When the people of Israel removed the idols of Baal and Ashtaroth and turned to the Lord with all their hearts, he helped Israel to win. And Samuel took a stone and set it up there, and called it Ebenezer, and confessed that the Lord had helped us up to this point. Let us also repent of our sins with all our hearts, remove the idols we loved more than God (money, children, games, alcohol, etc.)
Please pray for our family and our church members to throw away the idols they loved more than God (money, games, alcohol, etc.) and to be restored by serving only God and enjoy true peace.
