Jesus, the giver of peace, the Holy Spirit, forgiveness, faith and life
Jesus, the giver of peace, the Holy Spirit, forgiveness, faith and life
John 20:19-31
On the evening of the first day after the Sabbath, when the disciples were locking the door for fear of the Jews, the resurrected Jesus appeared to them and gave them peace, saying, “As the Father has sent me, I am sending you,” and gives the Holy Spirit and gives the authority to forgive.
Thomas, who was not there, did not believe in the resurrection of Jesus. Eight days later, Jesus appeared to Thomas and showed him the marks of his hands and his waist. Thomas confesses, “You are my Lord and my God.” Jesus says blessed are those who believe without seeing.
It is revealed that John wrote this Bible so that we might have life by believing that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.
Jesus wants to give peace to their fearful disciples and give them the Holy Spirit to forgive one another. He is also my Lord and my God who gives faith to Thomas who doubts the resurrection of Jesus. And we believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, so that we may have eternal life.
God, thank you for giving us peace and faith in our fears and doubts. Be filled with God the Holy Spirit, forgive one another, testify of the resurrection of Jesus, so that everyone can confess that Jesus is my Lord and my God, and believe that Jesus is the Christ and the Son of God, and have eternal life!
