The disciple Who Left at Night

 

John 13:18–30

 

Jesus is troubled by saying that one of his disciples will betray him. The disciples have no idea who the traitor is. Jesus hands Judas Iscariot a loaf of bread that contains his close love and trust. Satan enters the heart of Judas Iscariot who took the piece of bread. Jesus says, “Do what you have to do,” and Judas goes out and disappears into darkness.

 

Jesus gives bread to Judas who will betray him. In Jewish culture, ‘bread on a plate’ is a sign of hospitality and respect. He loved even the disciple who had abandoned him to the end and was going to give him a last chance. If you give me a chance to repent today by saying, 'It is you,' turn away from your sins quickly.

 

Judas leaves the arms of Jesus, who is the light, and enters the world of night where darkness reigns. Even if you are with Jesus on the outside, Satan can control your heart. What is my spiritual state right now?

 

Please pray for me, my family, and church members to repent and turn to Jesus without betraying Jesus like Judas Iscariot.
