Complete Obedience
Complete Obedience
Judges 1:11-21
Because God was with the people of the tribe of Judah, they could occupy the mountainous regions.(19)
Give me this mountain!
The ‘earth and springs’ that the brave Othniel and the wise Achsah received show how abundant the blessings of Canaan are that the people of Israel can enjoy when they are obedient. Father Caleb's generosity reflects God's generosity. When we ask in faith, obedience, and humility, the blessings we can enjoy in the kingdom of God will always exceed our expectations.
Judas and Benjamin's plausible reason for not achieving complete conquest symbolizes the unresolved sins in us, even though they claim to believe in God. What they lack is not 'military power', but a promise (Joshua 17:18, that the hills will be yours, even though it is a forest, you shall open up the forest, and it will be yours to the end. The Canaanites, though they have iron chariots and are strong, you can drive them out. ) is 'belief' about What sins do I have left in me for plausible reasons?
Lord, help me to rely only on You rather than on the conditions of my current reality.
