Give me a heart of justice and compassion!

 

Psalm 72:1-20

 

Pray to God that God may give our leaders Your judgment (mishpat, justice and compassion) to judge the people with justice and have pity on the poor and needy, so that they save lives from oppression and violence, and then praise God for His works.

 

God alone does wondrous things. Praise that is given by those who wish to boast of their own deeds or make known their own name is nothing but meaningless noise. Let's glorify God with true praise that boasts only of God.

 

Justice is standing on the side of the weak. Justice is responding to the calls of the poor and extending a helping hand to those who are oppressed. Believers mustn’t align themselves with the values of the world and long for unrighteous wealth and power, but become friends to the socially outcast, as the Lord did. Let’s humble ourselves and devote our attention to those around us, rather than coveting being at the center.

 

Lord, let Your justice and righteousness become manifest(demonstrate, appear) in every corner of this world.
