Pentecost : The coming of the holy spirit

 

Acts 사도행전 2:1~13

1When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place.2And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.3And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them.4And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.5Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven.6And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language.7And they were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans?8And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language?9Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,10Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome,11both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.”12And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?”13But others mocking said, “They are filled with new wine.”

1 오순절 날이 이미 이르매 그들이 다같이 한 곳에 모였더니

2 홀연히 하늘로부터 급하고 강한 바람 같은 소리가 있어 그들이 앉은 온 집에 가득하며

3 마치 불의 혀처럼 갈라지는 것들이 그들에게 보여 각 사람 위에 하나씩 임하여 있더니

4 그들이 다 성령의 충만함을 받고 성령이 말하게 하심을 따라 다른 언어들로 말하기를 시작하니라

5 그 때에 경건한 유대인들이 천하 각국으로부터 와서 예루살렘에 머물러 있더니

6 이 소리가 나매 큰 무리가 모여 각각 자기의 방언으로 제자들이 말하는 것을 듣고 소동하여

7 다 놀라 신기하게 여겨 이르되 보라 이 말하는 사람들이 다 갈릴리 사람이 아니냐

8 우리가 우리 각 사람이 난 곳 방언으로 듣게 되는 것이 어찌 됨이냐

9 우리는 바대인과 메대인과 엘람인과 또 메소보다미아, 유대와 갑바도기아, 본도와 아시아,

10 브루기아와 밤빌리아, 애굽과 및 구레네에 가까운 리비야 여러 지방에 사는 사람들과 로마로부터 온 나그네 곧 유대인과 유대교에 들어온 사람들과

11 그레데인과 아라비아인들이라 우리가 다 우리의 각 언어로 하나님의 큰 일을 말함을 듣는도다 하고

12 다 놀라며 당황하여 서로 이르되 이 어찌 된 일이냐 하며

13 또 어떤 이들은 조롱하여 이르되 그들이 새 술에 취하였다 하더라

 

At Pentecost (the Feast of Weeks with the first-fruits of the wheat harvest, the Feast of Harvest), the first fruits of God's people came together and experienced the amazing fill of the Holy Spirit.

곡식의 첫 열매를 하나님께 드리는 오순절(초실절, 맥추절, 칠칠절)에 성령의 첫 열매가 될 하나님의 백성들이 모여 기도하면서 성령님의 놀라운 충만을 경험합니다.

 

The Holy Spirit, which Jesus promised, has finally come to Pentecost. What was the first thing the Holy Spirit did when he came? What did the disciples, filled with the Holy Spirit, say?

예수님께서 약속하신 성령님이 드디어 오순절에 오셨습니다. 성령님이 오셔서 가장 먼저 무엇을 하셨나요? 성령으로 충만해진 제자들은 무엇을 말했나요?

 

On the day of Pentecost, there are sounds like a rush and strong wind, and everyone is filled with the Holy Spirit and begins to speak with other words as the Holy Spirit prompts them to speak.

오순절날 급하고 강한 바람같이 소리 있어 다 성령의 충만함을 받고 성령이 말하게 하심을 따라 다른 언어들로 말하기를 시작합니다.

 

This means that mankind scattered all over the earth because of sin will hear the same news of salvation. Also, Acts 1:8, "If the Holy Spirit comes to you, you will receive power, and you will reach Jerusalem, all Judea, Samaria, and the end of the earth and be my witness," and the power of the Holy Spirit shows that the gospel will spread from Jerusalem to the end of the earth in the future.

이는 죄 때문에 온 땅으로 흩어진 인류가 동일한 구원의 소식을 듣게 되는 것을 의미합니다. 또 사도행전 1:8 “오직 성령이 너희에게 임하시면 너희가 권능을 받고 예루살렘과 온 유대와 사마리아와 땅끝까지 이르러 내 증인이 되리라”는 말씀처럼 성령의 권능으로 복음이 장차 예루살렘에서부터 땅 끝까지 전파될 것을 미리 보여 주는 것이라 할 수 있습니다.

 

Vv.1~4 As Jesus said, the Holy Spirit came upon each of those who held onto the promise and waited for the Holy Spirit. In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit filled the glorious cloud of God in the temple and tabernacle. Now in the New Testament, it filled the people of the new covenant of God. As a result, the powerful work of God happened through the mouths of those who were filled with the Holy Spirit. It is an amazing event to start to witness the death and resurrection of Jesus to all people in the world using all the languages of all nations. How are we longing for fullness of the Holy Spirit to be poured on those who repent and believe in the Lord?

Vv.1 ~ 4 예수님께서 말씀하신대로 약속을 붙잡고 성령을 기다리던 각 사람에게 성령이 임하셨습니다. 구약에서 성령은 성전과 성막에 있는 영광스러운 하나님의 구름을 채웠습니다. 이제 신약에서 그것은 하나님의 새 언약의 사람들을 채웠습니다. 그 결과 성령 충만한 자들의 입으로 하나님의 권능의 역사가 일어났습니다. 모든 민족의 모든 언어를 사용하여 전 세계 모든 사람들에게 예수님의 죽음과 부활을 증언하는 것을 목격하기 시작하는 놀라운 사건입니다. 회개하고 주님을 믿는 사람들에게 성령 충만 함이 부어지기를 우리는 얼마나 갈망하고 있습니까?

 

All the people hear the gathered crowd speaking in each language the great work God has done.

모인 무리들이 하나님께서 행하신 크신 일을 각 언어로 말함을 듣습니다.

 

Vv. 5-11 The testimony of those who are obsessed with the Holy Spirit shows that each country understands God's great work in their own language, indicating that the Pentecostal Advent is God's gift for all nations. This is an incident in which the curse of the Tower of Babel was lifted by mixing a language into the words of various tribes so that they could not understand each other, indicating that the scattered chamber would become one of God's pro-people. Let us pray today that God will represent a strong history of the gospel beyond the boundaries of region, language and culture, just as the ten tribes of the world have heard God's great work through the small ones called the "Galili people."

 

Vv. 5~11 성령께 사로잡힌 자들의 증언을 통해 각국 사람이 저마다 자기 나라 언어로 하나님의 큰일을 알아듣게 하심으로써, 오순절 성령강림 사건이 모든 민족을 위한 하나님의 선물임을 알려주십니다. 이는 하나의 언어를 여러 족속의 말로 뒤섞어 서로 알아듣지 못하게 하신 바벨탑의 저주를 푸신 사건으로, 흩어진 열방이 성령으로 하나 되어 하나님의 친 백성이 될 것을 보여줍니다. ‘갈릴리 사람’으로 불리는 작은 자들을 통해서 열방의 족속들이 하나님의 큰일을 듣게 하신 것처럼, 오늘 우리를 통해서도 하나님이 지역과 언어와 문화의 경계를 넘어서는 복음의 강력한 역사를 나타내시길 기도합시다.

 

The sign of the filling of the Holy Spirit is not speaking in tongues, but speaking of the gospel. The first thing that the promised Holy Spirit came to do was to let many people tell the great work (Gospel) that God had done. Pray that you will be filled with the Holy Spirit like your disciples. Not only do you preach the Gospel through tracts or words, but also use all means such as text messages, KakaoTalk, e-mails, and videos. If possible, how about creating UCC (User Created Content) containing the message of the Gospel? Study a foreign language by striving to preach the Gospel in another language.

성령충만의 표시는 방언을 말하는 것이 아니라 복음을 말하는 것입니다. 약속하신 성령님이 오셔서 가장 먼저 하신 일은 많은 사람에게 하나님께서 행하신 큰 일(복음)을 말하게 하신 것이었습니다. 제자들처럼 성령으로 충만해지길 기도하십시오. 전도지나 말로 복음을 전할 뿐만 아니라 핸드폰 문자, 카톡, 이메일, 동영상 등 모든 수단을 사용해서 복음을 전하십시오. 가능하다면 복음의 메시지를 담은 UCC(User Created Content 사용자가 만든 콘텐츠)를 만드는 것은 어떨까요? 또 다른 나라 말로도 복음을 전할 수 있게 힘써서 외국어를 공부하십시오.

 

Let me be filled with the Holy Spirit and proclaim the great work of God.

내가 성령으로 충만하여 하나님의 큰 일을 선포하게 하옵소서.

 

Let us preach the Gospel in various ways to more people with the power and wisdom of the Holy Spirit.

성령님의 능력과 지혜로 더 많은 사람에게 다양한 방법으로 복음을 전하게 해주세요.
